Max Verstappen took the win at Imola in dominant fashion. However, that only tells half the story, the Dutchman believes. Verstappen keeps a tempered demeanor after dominant win
"I think it's important to stay calm for now. Not to start shouting too loud immediately," Verstappen toldViaplay after the race. The Dutchman and Red Bull managed to turn the weekend around at Imola, they key words being 'at Imola', Verstappen notes.
"We had a good race, of course. I think we made a step forward with the setup, but that's on this circuit. There are many fast corners here, and our car obviously handles that well."
The RB21 has been masterful in fast corners, with Verstappen dominanting the speedy Sector 1 at Miami, for instance. However, the twisty narrow bits are not up the 2025
Red Bull Racing car's alley.
This is something that may bode ill for the Austrians and the Dutchman in the upcoming race, seeing that the legendary Monaco street circuit is full of them.
"Monaco is a completely different circuit and there I know our car will struggle," concludes the four-time world champion.
For Monaco the FIA has enforced a minimum of 2 mandatory pitstops and three sets of tyres must be used by each driver, with at least two of those sets being of a different and also mandatory compounds. Failure to comply with the regulations may result in added time after the race's completion or even disqualification from the race results.
