Since his dismissal from Red Bull Racing, rumors have linked Christian Horner to several teams. Cadillac confirmed that the team has no plans to recruit the Brit, while GPblog previously reported that he is monitoring the situation around Alpine. Toto Wolff responded to a possible collaboration between Flavio Briatore, Horner, and Bernie Ecclestone at the French racing stable.

Wolff responded enthusiastically to the question about a possible collaboration between the three.

“Well, that would be an exciting story, I guess, and would create lots of buzz around Formula 1. And I think we need that.

"Formula 1 has always been about the best racing with exciting drivers and great personalities.”

“I feel that when you look back at the grand era of team owners and team principals around Frank Williams (Williams, ed.), and Ron Dennis (McLaren, ed.), Flavio (Briatore, ed.), (Luca di ed.), Montezemolo (Ferrari), and a few others, maybe we need to work on that.

"There was such an exciting project with these three guys coming together. All of the mafia reunited. We'd give good content, I guess.

Horner to Alpine?

Rumours following his departure from Red Bull Racing placed Horner at Ferrari and Cadillac. One small detail? The team principal role was already filled at those teams by Frederic Vasseur and Graeme Lowdon respectively.

Then Alpine was mentioned, and a part owner role was even suggested by multiple experts.

When asked regarding the matter, executive advisor to the French team Flavio Briatore responded to the matter. You can read his comments here.
