The Barcelona Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2032, rotating with Spa-Francorchamps, GPblog understands.
From 2028 onwards, the Catalunya race is expected to rotate as part of a planned alternation with another historic venue, Spa-Francorchamps. In the current landscape, Spa would feature in 2029 and 2031, while Barcelona would host the race in 2028, 2030 and 2032.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya made its Formula 1 calendar debut in 1991 and has remained a fixture ever since, with next year set to mark its 35th consecutive Grand Prix.
Next year, Spanish fans will be treated to two Formula 1 races in Spain, with Madrid set to make its official return to the calendar after the country’s last Grand Prix at Jarama in 1981.

While Barcelona's presence in the calendar looks likely to be on a rotational basis, the Spanish capital, Madrid, in contrast, has already secured a solid long-term deal running uninterrupted through to 2035.
The agreement with Barcelona has not yet been made official, but the announcement could come soon, paving the way for the rotation process that Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali had already hinted at in recent months.
Another piece of news — this time official — that has caught fans’ attention is the return of the Portuguese Grand Prix, after the Portimão circuit hosted Formula 1 in 2020 and 2021 during the height of the pandemic.
The Portuguese GP will replace Zandvoort, which is set to stage its final race next season, as part of a two-year agreement that will also see the event run again in 2028.
