Aston Martin has confirmed Lance Stroll will be taking part in the F1 2025 Canadian Grand Prix, despite the indications that pointed to the Candian driver missing his home race.
After qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix it was announced by Aston Martin that the Canadian driver would not be taking part in Sunday's race due to 'medical complications' stemming from the biking injury he sustained during winter break ahead of the 2023 F1 season. The following week, the Canadian driver had surgery in Barcelona to mend his wrist properly and thus his participation in the Canadian Grand Prix was brought into question: Would he be ready in time for the race weekend?

Fortunately, the son of mogul and team owner Lawrence Stroll has received a clean bill of health and will be at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in representation of Aston Martin alongside teammate Fernando Alonso.
The team's outlook is far better following namely the Imola Grand Prix update package and they will be hoping to carry on and build on that momentum in Canada.
In a statement on social media Aston Martin said: “We are pleased to confirm that Lance Stroll will be back with the team competing in Montreal this weekend. He had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week. Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.”
On his part, Stroll stated: “I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd. I’m feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you guys this weekend!”
