Most Formula 1 enthusiasts know that Max Verstappen doesn't live in the Netherlands, but in glamorous Monaco. Like many of his fellow F1 drivers, the Red Bull Racing driver owns a lavish residence in Monte Carlo, where the Grand Prix of Monaco is held annually.
Where does Max Verstappen live?
When Verstappen, at only 17 years old, made his debut as a permanent F1 driver at Toro Rosso, the sister team of Red Bull Racing, it was time for the Dutchman to move to Monaco. In 2015, he moved into a high-end apartment in the luxurious Fontvieille district.
Verstappen lives in Monaco with his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, their shared daughter Lily, and Kelly's daughter Penelope from her previous relationship with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.
How expensive is Verstappen's home?
As stated, the apartment of the multiple world champion is far from a bargain. Verstappen is estimated to shell out a minimum of 15,000 euros per month for the 180 square meter residence. If you want to buy a similar apartment in the same district, you would have to fork out an average of around 16 million euros.
However, in return, Verstappen gets a stunning view of the Monaco Harbour. Also, the heliport is within walking distance of his house. This allows the Red Bull driver to be at the Nice airport in just a few minutes, where his private jet is ready to transport him to any destination.
Which F1 drivers live in Monaco?
For many years, a significant part of the F1 field has chosen Monaco as their home base. Apart from Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Alexander Albon, Valtteri Bottas, and Nico Hulkenberg have residences in the tiny state on the Mediterranean Sea. Charles Leclerc should not be forgotten: the Ferrari driver was born and raised in Monaco.
