Hamilton demands 'personnel changes' made to the team's structure

Lewis Hamilton has urged Ferrari to consider personnel changes ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season to avoid repeating their 2025 struggles.

Ferrari is out of the fight for P2 in the Constructors’ standings and did not challenge for the Drivers’ Championship after halting development of the SF-25 in April.

Hamilton said the reset required for 2026 is not straightforward, explaining that after post-season testing he will determine how to approach key decision-makers to create the changes he believes are necessary.

He added that he has documented his own mistakes and decisions throughout the year for review over the break, but also emphasised that team structure must be examined.

The seven-time world champion further stated that Ferrari needs to evaluate how personnel are used and whether roles should change to optimise teamwork. When asked directly if personnel adjustments are required, Hamilton replied "yes," and stated the current structure cannot remain in place for next season.

Marko fears for the title after Abu Dhabi GP Friday

Helmut Marko says Red Bull cannot rely on luck again in the title fight and must find their own speed after Friday practice in Abu Dhabi. Max Verstappen finished FP2 over three tenths behind Lando Norris, and Marko noted that Norris appeared faster on both short and long runs.

Red Bull’s setup changes from FP1 to FP2 "didn’t have the desired effect," he added with the RB21 losing most time in sector three due to understeer. Verstappen reported the issue immediately, and Marko said the car has also been bouncing. He described the gap as "not alarming," but it was "not comfortable," either, and added that Red Bull’s tyre wear was higher than McLaren’s, specifically compared with Norris.

Marko said the team must make a step before qualifying and that Ferrari and Mercedes have not shown enough pace to take points from McLaren. He added Red Bull cannot expect another McLaren mistake after recent weekends in which disqualifications and strategic errors benefited Verstappen.
