During FP3, the stewards revealed that Aston Martin was fined for Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll missing a fan event on Friday.
The Silverstone-based team was fined by the stewards after Alonso and Stroll did not appear at the Fan Engagement event in Abu Dhabi. For both 'incidents', Aston Martin received a total fine of €50,000, of which €30,000 is suspended for 12 months.
The Aston Martin drivers missed the event after not driving in FP1 earlier this weekend.
The report says: "The Stewards heard from the team representatives and the driver who advised that he had been told by the team that because he was not required for driving duties during FP1, he would not be required at the Fan Engagement activity and that instead, a reserve and/or other driver representing the team, would attend."
The fine will go towards, "the encouragement of fans in this region to become involved in motorsport as officials or by engaging in grassroots motorsport activities."
The majority of the fine was suspended after Aston Martin proposed to attend the fan zone later this weekend, give signed caps to all fans dressed in Aston Martin apparel, and select two fans for a garage tour.
