Former Formula 1 driver Timo Glock was highly critical of Lando Norris’s poor weekend in Canada, which culminated in an avoidable incident with his teammate Oscar Piastri.
After a disappointing seventh place in qualifying, the British driver partially made up for it during the race, climbing up to finish just behind his teammate and launching a late attack for fourth place. Unfortunately, driver number 4 made a critical misjudgment, crashing into the barriers and being forced to retire.
“His error rate is just too high,” Timo Glock stated on the German branch of Sky Sports. “What was he thinking with that action? What was his approach when he thought there was room on the left for another car? He knows the track. It hasn't gotten wider in the last five rounds. So, the wall is still there.”

Glock drew a harsh conclusion on costly Norris mistake: “The question is why he can't remain clear-headed at such crucial moments.”
Speaking of his teammate Piastri, the former F1 driver was full of praise: “It's as though he's been driving for ten years without any idea of how often he's participated in the championship. He doesn't raise his voice and lets no one test him. And that shows the incredible intelligence of the people around him,” said the German.

Andrea Stella, the team boss of McLaren, defended Norris after the Grand Prix was apparently a misjudgment where the Brit's car got sucked into Piastri's due to DRS. Additionally, Stella was particularly pleased with Norris's response, as he immediately apologized to the team over the radio.
With his retirement at the Canadian GP, Norris lost a significant twelve points to the championship leader, now trailing by 22. Will he be able to bounce back in Austria?
