Hamilton called for penalties for 'all the cars that cheated' in Mexico GP

Lewis Hamilton was left fuming after the chaotic start to the Mexico City Grand Prix, urging Ferrari to push the stewards to act against rivals he believed had “cheated” at Turn 1.

“Max took a shortcut. Loads of people gained advantage,” he snapped over team radio, frustrated that Verstappen and Leclerc escaped penalties after running wide.

Moments later, after a fierce wheel-to-wheel fight with Verstappen, Hamilton protested again: “I got hit at Turn 1, pushed wide."

"What are they doing about people who took advantage?,” he added. But irony struck on Lap 19 when he was handed a 10-second penalty for rejoining ahead of Verstappen.

“That’s such ****, man,” Hamilton fumed. “These guys are unbelievable, mate.”

FIA reveals F1 budget cap audit findings

The FIA has concluded its audit of the 2024 Formula 1 budget cap, confirming that nine teams complied fully with the $140.4 million limit, while Aston Martin committed a minor procedural breach.

In a statement, the governing body clarified that “AMR GP Ltd has not exceeded the Cost Cap level, and the procedural breach was of a very minor nature, originating from unpredictable circumstances outside the team’s control.”

The FIA entered into an Accepted Breach Agreement (ABA) with Aston Martin on September 29 to resolve the matter, noting that the team “acted cooperatively and in good faith throughout the review process.”

Importantly, “no financial penalties were imposed on AMR,” as the FIA confirmed there was “no accusation or evidence that AMR sought or gained any undue advantage as a result of the breach.”

All five power unit manufacturers were also found fully compliant with the 2024 financial regulations.
