F1 world celebrates as Albon follows Leclerc’s footsteps in key decision

The world of Formula 1 has continued to buzz with reactions after Alex Albon announced his engagement to longtime partner, Lily Muni He.

The Williams F1 team driver on Friday took to his social media to make the announcement, sharing a photo of himself and his partner wearing a ring. Albon accompanied the snapshot with the caption, “Guess we’re stuck with each other now ❤️😊.”

The post has since garnered a flurry of attention, with several figures across the F1 world reacting

F1 world reacts to Albon’s engagement

The official Formula 1 Instagram account commented on the announcement, writing: “Congratulations, Alex & Lily! 💙”

The Mercedes team also shared their best wishes, commenting: “Congratulations ❤️.”

Charles Leclerc also added: "CONGRATSSSSSS."

McLaren driver, Oscar Piastri commenting also wrote: “Congrats!!”

Several other drivers including Sergio Perez, George Russell and Oliver Bearman also liked the announcement post shared by the Thai driver.

F1 WAGS including Max Verstappen's partner Kelly Piquet also shared her reaction: “Ohhhh congratulations💖💖💖," she wrote.

However, the Williams F1 outfit, which Albon races for, went a step further, sharing a post of the couple with the caption: “The best news to start 2026! Congratulations Alex & Lily 💙.”

Albon and Lily have reportedly been dating since 2019, after the pair met on social media. Lily revealed in an interview that she had followed the Thai driver on Instagram after coming across the Netflix series Drive to Survive.

The engagement of the couple follows shortly after Charles Leclerc announced he had gotten engaged to his partner, Alexandra Saint-Mleux, in late 2025.
