During a fan event for the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton admitted to being a huge gamer. He even went as far as to say he would be cancelling work when the new Grand Theft Auto game, GTA VI, comes out.

The Belgian GP is not the first time Hamilton has spoken about his love for gaming. Both he and teammate Charles Leclerc ranked classic games for the Ferrari YouTube channel. He mentioned his love for GTA there as well.

Hamilton excited for new GTA VI game

On stage at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Hamilton asked the crowd, "I'm a big gamer. Is anyone a big gamer?"

He mentioned games like Call of Duty, Assasin's Creed and Gran Turismo. However, Hamilton is looking forward to playing one game in particular.

"I'm dying for the new Grand Theft Auto to come out. GTA VI. That's the one I'm waiting for."Hamilton then went on to joke, "I'll have to cancel all my work when that comes out."

Luckily for the Ferrari driver, GTA VI is set to come out on 26 May 2026. That's two days after the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix. The next race is set for two weeks after that, so Hamilton will have some time to play the game before getting back into the cockpit.
