Ferrari's boss Fred Vasseur reckons Lewis Hamilton will bounce back in Monza after crashing out of the Dutch Grand Prix.

Hamilton suffered a miserable race at Zandvoort, crashing into the barriers at turn three while his teammate, Charles Leclerc, was also taken out in a collision with Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli as Ferrari suffered a double DNF.
However, Vasseur is remaining optimistic as the team heads into its home race at the Italian Grand Prix and reckons Hamilton will be motivated to make up for his Dutch disappointment.

Vasseur has tried to look to the bright side of Hamilton's performance and spoke following Charles' thoughts about the Scuderia's home Grand Prix at Monza, and was an improvement on his 12th place in the Hungarian GP.

Vasseur believes Hamilton is taking steps forward

When asked if Hamilton would have a boost in confidence ahead of his first Italian GP driving for Ferrari, Vasseur said: "Overall, yes, I think that we'll see when we do a full debrief, but the first reaction after the race was more positive on the weekend, on the fact that he was fighting for P5 or P4 in the race. That it's much better than what he did last race in Budapest. It means that I think the confidence is back and I think it's good preparation for Monza."

Vasseur is also optimistic Hamilton will have a better second half of the season in his first year with the team He added: "To enjoy it? It's largely a matter of results and confidence and pace and the fact that you are in the game. But I think, honestly, Lewis had the perception that [the Dutch GP] was much better, even if the outcome is not. But at the end of the day, he was able to fight, able to raise his soul. It means that for himself, is good and if it  like this that, you will enjoy it."
