While Ferrari improved at the Monaco Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are still not satisfied. At the Imola Grand Prix weekend, Leclerc explained what he needs from the upgrades they bring to Spain. In Imola, Ferrari qualified outside the top 10. In Monaco, it was a different story, with both drivers making it into Q3.
Leclerc on Spanish GP upgrades
As Ferrari heads to Barcelona, they are bringing upgrades to the
Spanish Grand Prix.
When asked about Ferrari’s Spanish GP upgrades in Imola, Leclerc said, “It has to be a freaking good upgrade if we want for it to be a turning point.”
Ferrari is not the only one bringing upgrades;
Max Verstappen confirmed that
Red Bull Racing would also bring upgrades.
He then admitted, “I honestly I don't think that. I hope that we will do a step in the right direction but the road is a very long one ahead.”
What does the Ferrari driver see as the issue?
“Performance, just performance. We can do whatever with the balance, but at the end of the day, just the performance is not good enough.”
This race weekend could be a turning point in the season as the flexiwing technical directive goes into effect at the Spanish Grand Prix.
