Leclerc takes clear stance on fresh Horner-to-Ferrari rumours

Charles Leclerc has responded to recent rumours of Christian Horner joining Ferrari as a replacement for Frederic Vasseur.

"It's not something that you want to read. We are fully focused on what we want to do"

Sharing his thoughts on the matter to GPblog, the Monegasque replied: "It's not something that you want to read and it's not something that you want to… we are fully focused on what we want to do.

"It's not something that I pay attention to — I just try to ignore that completely and focus on my job, and I think that's also what the team is doing. It's never nice to hear those kinds of things and see that kind of talk going around the team."

Finally, when asked how he has learned over the years to deal with the rumours that often surround Ferrari, Leclerc added: "In between races I don't look at those because there's no truth to it.

"The reality is that we are working extremely hard as a team and we are all very united in trying to come back at the front.

"And then what's being said around, I cannot stop that and we cannot control that. I definitely did a step on that, but I also think the team in the last years have improved massively in order to not get too affected by what's going around."

Hamilton doesn't want to 'entertain rumors'

Speaking at the FIA press conference ahead of the US Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion also addressed this week’s rumours.

Having officially parted ways with Red Bull after receiving a substantial payout fee, Horner's name has recently been linked with Ferrari as a potential figure to help bring the Italian team back to glory, given his remarkable success in Formula 1.

However, like his teammate, the Brit chose not to give too much away, quickly shutting down the topic and stressing his focus on finishing the season strongly and preparing for next year. Here’s what Hamilton had to say.
