Nico Rosberg has voiced his disagreement with Danica Patrick’s assessment of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, after the former IndyCar driver again suggested that the Montreal track is “one of the easier” circuits on the Formula 1 calendar. Just yesterday a video of
Brundle being left speachless at Danica Patrick's comments on the 'easy' Montreal track went viral over the internet. Today Nico Rosberg decided to correct the ex-Indycar driver.
"Montreal is a fun track, but it's not the most complicated." Patrick commented on Sky Sports when discussing
Leclerc making a return in Canada,
"I think, as long as you get get the balance right, you get it to change directions, just be able to get on the throttle coming off, you can put it together here, so I don't think it'll be a huge problem". "I have to disagree ever so slightly there, Danica." Nico Rosberg jumped in, "Montreal is one of the hardest tracks of the year, because there's so many bumps and at every curb you have to hit it so perfectly."
Rosberg: 'Hamilton has won all his records here'
"It's a real driver's track, which is why Lewis Hamilton has won all his records here, and even Max Verstappen has won all the last races, because the driver can really shine here" He highlighted the circuit's narrow walls, heavy braking zones, and rapid chicanes as key elements that test a driver’s talent and bravery - far from what he would consider an “easy” layout.
"It's every detail matters more than elsewhere, and it's very hard to hit those curbs in exactly the right place, all the time and everything. It's very, very challenging."
Danica later backtracked on her initial comments, acknowledging Rosberg’s points: "For sure, there's huge penalty for not being precise, and that's hitting the wall, so I definitely agree there."
