Lando Norris expects Max Verstappen to be just as hungry for victory as ever, despite his scathing criticism of the new regulations.
“I don’t expect Max is going to go out and not give a shit. He’s going to try and win, and Max is never going to not try”- Lando Norris
The reigning world champion, speaking with GPblog among other media, had this to say about his rival: “I don’t expect Max is going to go out and not give a shit. He’s going to try and win, and Max is never going to not try. He’s just not going to smile as much, maybe. I guess that might be the case.”
And about new F1 cars, Norris added: “It certainly doesn’t feel as quick as the past few years and it doesn’t handle as perfectly, but if this was the F1 car he started driving, he’d probably say it’s amazing. Compared to the older cars, it doesn’t feel as pretty or beautiful to drive, but it’s still pretty good.
“Everyone can have their own opinions and decide what they want to do — no one should complain or be upset about that. Every driver has their own view: he didn’t like it, and I like it.”

Norris admitted McLaren are still chasing both Red Bull Racing and Ferrari as the opening race of the season draws closer.
After completing his programme on the second day of running in Bahrain, the Briton told GPblog that the RB22 in particular appears to have the upper hand at this stage, pointing to the efficiency of their overall package and the strength of their power unit as key factors emerging from early testing.
