Lando Norris won the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, and after doing so sent a stark remark to his critics.
"This was for one of my mentors Gil [de Ferran]. A perfect weekend."- Lando Norris.
Completing a perfect Sprint weekend taking sprint pole and the win on Saturday morning, the British McLaren driver also got pole for the Grand Pix, from which he would emerge the victor come Sunday afternoon after executing a perfect drive and increasing his championship lead.
Speaking after the race in Sao Paulo, Norris said: "Crazy race! Nice to win here in Brazil. It's an amazing track, amazing fans."
He then alluded to former McLaren member - and Brazilian native - Gil de Ferran, often dubbed a key piece in staging McLaren's comeback, who past away in December 2023. He added: "This was for one of my mentors Gil [de Ferran]. A perfect weekend."

He responded: "Just ignore everyone that talks c*** about you! Just focus on yourself. The team are doing an amazing job, giving me a great car."
"We are pushing hard every single weekend and I'm pushing hard away from the track."Rewarding. It doesn't come easy. To be honest, I don't think we were the quickest today but I'm glad to take home the win," Norris concluded.
He now leads the championship 24 points ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri and 49 ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.
