With a reshuffled schedule, Pirelli's two-day tyre test concluded at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza this afternoon.
As GPblog reported on Tuesday, the Pirelli tyre test schedule at the Italian track was changed.
Because of the poor weather conditions on Wednesday morning, five drivers from four teams ran test programmes on Tuesday.
Then, Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda for Red Bull Racing, and Felipe Drugovich for Aston Martin took to the track in the morning.
They were then followed by Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) and Carlos Sainz (Williams) yesterday afternoon.
Today, after the heavy rainfall in the morning, testing the tyre compounds for the 2026 campaign continued in Italy, with Hadjar and Sainz once again sitting in their cars.
They ran using both intermediate and slick tyres (ranging from C4 to C6) today, which helps to determine the crossover point between the two compounds, the tyre manufacturer shared.
The Williams driver completed 57 laps at Monza, setting his best time — a 1:22.108 — on Lap 24.
The Racing Bulls rookie completed 56 laps. His best time was a 1:23.825 on Lap 30.
Across the two days, all five drivers completed 467 laps, covering a total of 2,705 kilometres.
Pirelli confirmed they gathered the necessary data to continue developing the 2026 compounds, due to be homologated by 15 December.
After a two-day test at the Hungaroring was also carried out entering the summer break, on-track action at Monza comes to an end.
At the end of this month, tyre testing will continue at the Mugello circuit, where a Formula 1 Grand Prix was hosted in 2020.
There, the slick tyres will be in use, and focus will be on the harder compounds.
Then, after the Mexico City Grand Prix later this season, another two-day test will follow. There, the tyre manufacturer will test the softer compounds.
Afterwards, the usual end-of-season testing will also be completed at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
