The 18-year-old, who is poised for his debut season in Formula 1 with Racing Bulls, was quizzed about whether he had experienced the support Verstappen often offers to younger drivers. Responding, Lindblad admitted the Dutch driver is incredibly supportive and genuinely willing to help.

“Max has always been really nice. He's always been very supportive. Whenever I've had any questions or something, he's always been really friendly, sort of wanting to help, which is really nice,” Lindblad told GPblog.

Speaking further about Verstappen’s guidance, Lindblad highlighted how impressive it is that the Dutch driver remains approachable despite his remarkable success in the sport.

“I think it's cool to see how open and friendly he is. You know, someone so big in the sport could very easily change, especially when you have so much success, and not be so friendly. So it's really cool that he's so willing to help and kind,” Lindblad concluded.

In recent years, Verstappen has become synonymous with helping younger drivers, and only recently, he was described by Kimi Antonelli as the ‘Dad of the rookies’ in an interview.

Lindblad believes drivers could play key role under 2026 regulations

Lindblad also expressed his belief that drivers could have a more crucial impact on their car under the new regulations.

The young British driver highlighted how the overhaul of the rules affords drivers the chance to exert more control over the results of their respective cars compared to previous seasons.

Lindblad described this as exciting, adding that he is looking forward to hitting the track in his maiden F1 campaign.
