After the Hungarian Grand Prix, the summer break begins in the 2025 Formula 1 season for some drivers, like Max Verstappen. However, some of his rivals, like Lando Norris or Charles Leclerc, will have to wait a bit longer.
The next Grand Prix weekend of the season will be hosted at Zandvoort during the last days of August.
However, two days after the conclusion of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the track near Budapest will be used to complete tyre tests for the 2026 season for Pirelli.
Pirelli's Mario Isola explained about the test: "Before we too go on the summer break following a very busy first part of the season, we still have one more task on track, here at the Hungaroring. On Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 August, we will run a test session aimed at 2026 tyre development. On the menu, validating constructions, as these must be homologated by 1st September and development of the softest compounds, especially from C3 to C5."
While some have immediately left the track to go to the airport, these drivers are sticking around for longer.
"Supporting us in this on the first day will be McLaren with Norris at the wheel and Racing Bulls with Lawson driving. On the second day Ferrari will run Leclerc, while Alpine is doing both days, the first with Aron at the wheel, the second with both Colapinto and Gasly."
