Since his dismissal from the Red Bull Racing outfit, Christian Horner has been linked with several Formula 1 teams, including Alpine and Cadillac. However, former driver Christian Danner does not see the British motorsport chief returning to the F1 paddock anytime soon.

The 67-year-old, who spoke in an interview via German outlet Sport.de, expressed his belief that several roles within the F1 ecosystem may not suit the ex-Red Bull boss. Danner also explained that he believes Horner would only consider a return to Formula 1 in a role much different from that of a team principal.

"Theoretically, it's possible, and various versions have been discussed in the press. But whether that's what Horner wants—to continue as team boss, only with a much weaker team—I think it's unlikely," he said.

"Horner would like a different status than he had at Red Bull. That means he wants to become a shareholder in a team and aims to reach new heights politically, not just focus on the day-to-day racing business, with Flavio Briatore ultimately making the decisions."

Horner has continued to be linked with several teams within the Formula 1 space, including the newest entrant, Cadillac. However, the American outfit’s CEO, Dan Towriss, recently addressed the reports.

Cadillac F1 CEO speaks on Christian Horner rumour

Dan Towriss, who spoke to the media following the announcement of Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas as the team’s driver lineup for 2026, clarified that there have been no discussions with Christian Horner about joining the team in any capacity.

"There have been no talks with Christian Horner. No plans to do that. I’d like to officially shut down that rumour," he stated to the media.
