After the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen received a lot of criticism based on his driving during the race. One piece of criticism (from Nico Rosberg) said he deserved a black flag. Now, Peter Windsor weighs in.
On his youtube channel, Windsor answered whether or not Verstappen deserved a black flag for 'ramming' into George Russell. He said, "I mean a 10 second penalty was quite enough if he'd chosen to do it at some ridiculously high speed place and they'd both gone out, I think you'd be looking at a black flag."

Windsor compares Verstappen to Vettel

Windsor compared the move to what someone else, a four-time world champion, did.
"At least he did it with a little bit of Sebastian Vettel type panache, didn't he? In fact, it was better than Vettel."
"Vettel had to, what a wuss, he had to choose to do it behind the safety car when they're all doing 30 kilometres an hour, at least Max did it on the racetrack, and Nobody really held that against Vettel. Did they?"
Windsor continues, "I don't recall all the Cognoscenti, as Murray Walker used to call them up in arms, because Vettel should be banned for a year."
"You probably think, oh, there's Windsor cynically saying it's okay to run into another car, but of course it's not a good thing, and Max should have had more self-control, and he's a multi-world champion."
Windsor said, "He does set responsibility to the younger generation of road drivers, let alone racing drivers. Yeah, that's bad, and he should have got that. But he got the 10-second penalty, so there you go."
Verstappen currently has 11 penalty points. If he receives one more during the next two races, he will face a race ban.
