The Sprint at the Brazilian Grand Prix has just wrapped up — here’s a quick recap of what went down in a race heavily affected by the weather!
There were no changes among the top four off the line, with Lando Norris comfortably holding the lead ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Oscar Piastri.
George Russell followed in fourth, while Max Verstappen managed to get past Fernando Alonso with a strong launch off the clutch. Both Ferraris got away well, and Lewis Hamilton gained three places from his starting position to slot in just behind his teammate.
Chaos erupted on lap eight, as Piastri clipped the curb exiting Turn 3, spun, and slammed into the barriers, ending his race.

Colapinto and Nico Hulkenberg suffered similar incidents, although the German managed to bring his car back to the pits with a damaged wing. Shortly after, a red flag was deployed to clear the track of the scattered debris.
Norris retained the lead at the restart following the red flag on lap 8 of the Brazilian Sprint. The stewards opted for a rolling start, allowing Norris to avoid any attacks. Russell tried to challenge his teammate, but Antonelli held his position.
The Brit took advantage of the soft tires fitted during the red flag stop to build a gap between himself and the two Mercedes cars. Verstappen ran wide at Turn 1 under pressure from Alonso, yet the Dutchman kept fourth. A battle between the two Ferraris also occurred, with Leclerc fending off Hamilton.
Leclerc overtook Alonso with three laps to go, moving into the top five. Antonelli pushed hard right to the end on fresher tires, but the championship leader defended brilliantly to keep his position.
Norris crossed the line to claim a crucial victory, earning eight valuable points on his teammate and extending his championship lead to nine. Antonelli and Russell completed the podium. Bortoleto suffered a crash at the last lap, making it harder for Sauber to repair his car on time for qualifying.
