Is Christian Horner set to leave Red Bull Racing? While the British team principal is flattered to see getting linked to other opportunities, he told Sky Sports that is not the case. Horner's position at Red Bull Racing has been questioned over the recent weeks.
GPblog also understands that the Briton is no longer unconditionally supported by Chalerm Yoovidhya (the Thai co-owner of Red Bull GmbH), and pressure is increasing on him.
Therefore, Horner is said to have leaked the rumour of
Ferrari being interesting in services, and was flirting with Alpine.
What does Horner say about a possible departure?
"You know this business. There are so many rumours. I'm not going anywhere. I'm fully committed to Red Bull. We have got so much good stuff coming through the pipeline. We are on the verge of launching our own engine for 2026, which has been a massive project and undertaking," he told Martin Brundle on Sky Sports after FP1 in Canada.
He added: "It's always flattering being associated with other teams, especially teams like Ferrari. But I'm not going anywhere, not even Alpine as has been reported. Speculation is rife in this paddock. I've been here for 21 years and I don't have any intention of being anywhere else."
Now however, not only Horner lost the unconditional faith of Yoovidhya,
but he is no longer able to sign drivers to the team, after he extended Sergio Perez in 2024. Only Helmut Marko and Oliver Mintzlaff (managing director of Red Bull GmbH) can do that, after the Mexican's deal cost the team 18 millions.
