Ferrari have undergone a rather torrid 2025 Formula One season. Yet, the Scuderia's boss, Frederic Vasseur, sees no reason to fret and even dares to look to the future with hope.
Not just because of all the development work that's being carried out for 2026 on this year's car, which with hope will help the Maranello based squad when F1 premieres the revolutionising set of regulations next year.
But, rather, because Ferrari can fight McLaren.
Charles Leclerc, following his chance at a win's demise during the third and last stint of the Hungarian Grand Prix, was very adamant Ferrari had just forsaken its only chance to win a race in 2025.
Speaking to media like GPblog after the race, Vasseu corrected his driver
"No, no, no, so far, [it's been out only chance to win]."
Asked if his 'optimistic outlook' was due to Ferrari being strong at a number of the tracks that F1 will soon visit, the Frenchman responded in his usual blunt tone.
"I don't know, I don't have the crystal ball."
"But if you have a look that [in] Spa we were two tenths off in the race.
"This weekend we did the pole position, we were able to stay in front 40 laps," said Vasseur emphasising the potential ever changing nature of the pecking order in F1 from track to track.
Seeing the positives, though, Vasseu also accepts the negatives, with Leclerc's SF-25 slowing down in the last sting of the race in Hungary.
"We have a lot of frustration, but we can also take the positive of the last two weekends.
"We had a good upgrade on the car, the performance is back and we don't have to draw a conclusion [based] on the last stint."
So far Ferrari remains the sole team out of the big four to go without a win so far this season, with McLaren dominating by and large, Red Bull Racing taking two, and Mercedes one.
The Scuderia will want to etch their name onto the list in the last ten races before this era in F1 ends and the next one is ushered in. This comes as good news for Lewis Hamilton as well, who is also eager to get his first win in red.
