For a while now it has been a subject of speculation: Who will be Max Verstappen's teammate in 2026, provided Red Bull dismiss Yuki Tsunoda?
One of the main candidates, whose name resonates clearly is current Racing Bills rookie Isack Hadjar.
Mentally strong, and having shown great skills and remarkable adaptability being quick from the word 'go', the French Algerian is understood to be the preferred choice in Red Bull's young drivers' talent pool.
However, a recent report has emerged, from American news outlet IndyStar.
In it, it is stated that 'various sources' have revealed to said website that the Austrians are in talks with current IndyCar champion Alex Palou.
However, the Spaniard champion, since his fallout with McLaren over an F1 drive that never came to fruition, has always asserted his will to remain in IndyCar in a 'rather fight for titles here than for points in F1' argument.
IndyStar has since reached out to Palou' himself, as well as his entourage and even his team for comment.
All parties who would be involved should the rumours be true, denied any knowledge whatsoever of any and all alleged talks that would be taking place between Red Bull Racing and Palou'.
Should the move be on, the website states that there's a clause in Palou's contract with CGR that could see him released, pending payment, of course, of a hefty buyout fee.
