Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will have to appear before the Abu Dhabi stewards ahead of FP3.

Both Aston Martin drivers have been summoned for an alleged breach of Article 19.2(c) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations, related to non-attendance at a fan engagement activity.

Alonso and Stroll are set to provide their explanations to the stewards at 13:15 local time (10:15 UK time).

The two-time world champion ended Friday with the ninth-fastest time, while his teammate came in twelfth. The Spaniard was six tenths off the pace set by Norris, with the Canadian just a tenth further back.

For Aston Martin, the Abu Dhabi race marks the end of a technical era defined by few highs and many minor consolations, before diving into the real opportunity offered by the 2026 regulations and the first car designed by Adrian Newey.

Newey sheds light on why he 'picked up' Aston Martin team principal role

Last week, the legendary British designer was announced as the new team principal of his team in a reshuffle of internal roles, which saw Andy Cowell step back after less than a year.

It’s not yet clear whether Newey’s appointment as team principal is permanent or a temporary step in 2026, pending the arrival of another big name. Regardless, he will still dedicate himself full-time to the project’s development.

Here’s what Newey had to say about his new role and why he decided to accept it.
